Kinjol Barua
Doctoral Student
Kinjol earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2018, where he worked on plasmonics during his undergraduate studies. He began his PhD at Purdue University in 2021 and joined Huang Lab in 2025. His research encompasses nanophotonic inverse design and simulation, optical spectroscopy and characterization, and device fabrication. His primary focus is on studying strong light-matter interactions in 2D materials (TMDC) and integrating them with nanophotonic structures to harness strong optical nonlinearity at the single-photon level. In his spare time, he enjoys reading story books, watching movies, singing, and cooking.
